Michele Bianchi (STUDENT)

In 2011 he obtained the BSc degree in Computer Engineering at Politecnico di Milano with a thesis on pervasive systems. He is currently a MSc student degree in Computer Engineering at Politecnico di Milano and is carrying on his thesis about computer graphics applications for videogames creation. He knows different programming languages and has recently started to use them to also create GIS-based applications.

 

Rody Jolak (STUDENT)

He was born in Aleppo (Syria). He obtained a Diploma from Mamoun secondary school of Aleppo. In 2010 he received the BSc degree in Computer Engineering at Politecnico di Milano with a thesis on Internet of Services & Things. Since 2011 he is MSc degree student in Computer Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, and at the same time he works as a Java developer in a software company whose main activity is building Web and enterprise applications. He was Oracle-certified as a Java professional programmer in 2011.

  

Marco Minghini (STUDENT)

He obtained two degrees with honors at Politecnico di Milano, the first in 2008 for a BSc in Environmental Engineering, the second in 2010 for a MSc in Environmental and Geomatic Engineering. In 2011 he started his Ph.D. in Environmental and Infrastructures Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. His current research activity focuses on the use of open source tools related to GIS, Internet GIS and Web services for online fruition of geospatial information, both from traditional (desktop) devices and mobile devices. His interest is also in the development of crowdsourcing application.

  

Andres Quinones (STUDENT)

Born in Medellín (Colombia), he took his BSc in Computer Science Engineering in the same city. He has had a high interest in the GIS field since college and because of that, he was part of a research program while in college at a multidisciplinary group to develop a Web-based GIS application to visualize pollutant-monitored data in the main river of the city. He has worked as GIS Analyst and GIS Developer in the past few years for both public and private sectors. He is currently attending the MSc in Environmental and Geomatic Engineering at Politecnico di Milano.

 

Giorgio Zamboni (MENTOR)

He obtained a degree with honors in Computer Engineering at Politecnico di Milano with specialization in design, development and management of multimedia applications, multi-dimensional graphical systems and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for the treatment of spatial data. He obtained a Ph.D. with honors in Geodesy and Geomatics at Politecnico di Milano, with specialization in techniques for acquiring, geocoding, analyzing and processing geographic data and development of advanced geocomputing software. His current research activities at Politecnico di Milano focuses on GIS, WebGIS, multi-dimensional Virtual Globes and automatic integration of heterogeneous geographic data for environmental and territorial analysis by means of multi-resolution algorithms.
